Turanj, 1991, pictured Top & Turanj 1994, Middle. Turanj is a suburb of the city of Karlovac, Croatia. It is located in the south of the city, separated from the rest by the rivers Mrežnica and Korana. During the Croatian war of independence, Turanj became the symbol of attacks by the JNA. It was also the beginning of a organised defence by the Croatians. Today, Turanj is home to the Croatian museum of war, pictured bottom.
