Old age happens to anyone who has been alive for a long time, but maturity is not so automatic. You gain wisdom and maturity by practicing meditation. When you have strong mindfulness you can accept everything in life, whether it makes you happy or unhappy. Meditation allows you to not attach to the good or bad. It even allows you to become unattached with the fear of death.
